As winter approaches, one essential item for parents raising children is a nasal aspirator. Currently, more than 70% of the domestic nasal aspirator market in Korea is occupied by products manufactured in Hungary. However, a domestic premium brand for babies has boldly entered the market to challenge the dominance of foreign brands. This brand, DURI Nasal Aspirator, is equipped with its own developed air suction technology, offering optimal suction power for nasal mucus and a friendly design.

DURI Parenting Lab launched this product after three years of research. The reason for such a long research process was due to numerous trials and errors during the early stages, including adopting a vacuum motor system. Most nasal aspirators on the market use vacuum motors due to their quiet operation and low cost.

However, the vacuum motor only provides strong suction when a vacuum state is created, and more importantly, it can potentially damage the delicate nasal mucosa of children. DURI Parenting Lab developed a nasal aspirator using a powerful fan suction motor (maximum suction power of 75mmHg) that works even without a vacuum state. To minimize air pressure loss, they designed the aspirator with a consistent-sized hose connecting the main body to the nozzle, and reinforced the seal structure at every connection point to prevent air leakage. As a result, the DURI Nasal Aspirator allows for quick mucus suction without inserting the nozzle deeply into the nose, avoiding irritation of the nasal mucosa.

There is one common challenge that mothers face when using nasal aspirators: children are often afraid of using them and are reluctant to cooperate. To address this pain point, DURI Parenting Lab developed a nasal aspirator with a dual noise-reduction design. More importantly, they worked to reduce children's fear of using the product and make it more familiar by incorporating facial expressions and sounds into each step of use.

In other words, the nasal aspirator features a bus character on its LED display that shows different facial expressions, and after the nasal suction is completed, it offers encouraging words like "Great job!" or other praise. This feature is part of DURI's solution to reduce children's resistance to the product and help them use the nasal aspirator in a more friendly and approachable way. Additionally, DURI offers three different types of nozzles, allowing parents to choose the most suitable one based on the child’s age and situation.

Hyeon Eung-seop, the CEO of DURI Parenting Lab, expressed, "Although it took three years of research and development, I am thrilled to introduce an innovative and excellent product as we begin 2025."
